Anchored in the Liberal Arts (ATLAS) is a transformational text program for transfer students in Professional Programs (and beyond) at Lehman College. It offers Lehman faculty the support to develop a diverse and transformational liberal arts text-based curriculum reflecting a common understanding of Lehman values and the Lehman community.
ATLAS courses use texts from a list developed by faculty that includes titles with the potential to impact and transform the learning experience, bridging the perceived gap between the liberal arts and majors in professional fields.
In tune with Lehman College’s mission to empower, educate, and engage students as they advance toward their degrees, ATLAS has the same goals. We support Lehman faculty with workshops, events, and grants.
The ATLAS program is a recipient of the grants Cornerstone: Learning for Living funded by The Teagle Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
